Master Illustrator's Toolbars: A Comprehensive Guide
Mastering the Toolbar Basics
Last updated on May 23, 2023
The Illustrator interface features two main toolbars: the Basic Toolbar and the Advanced Toolbar. Each toolbar offers a unique set of tools tailored to specific tasks.
To customize the Basic Toolbar, simply drag and drop tools into or out of the bar. For a more tailored experience, create and manage multiple toolbars to organize your frequently used tools.
Retrieving the Options Bar
The Options Bar traditionally runs across the top of Illustrator, containing context-sensitive controls for the active tool or object. If the Options Bar is missing, navigate to "Window" and select "Options" to retrieve it.
Introducing the Contextual Task Bar
The Contextual Task Bar is a floating bar that provides a dynamic set of options based on the object you select. It offers relevant actions specific to the object's vicinity, enhancing workflow efficiency.
