Early Life and Background

Nancy Ruth Mace was born on December 4, 1977, at Fort Bragg, a military installation in North Carolina. She grew up in the Lowcountry region of South Carolina, where her father served as a retired Army General and her mother as a retired school teacher.

Political Career

Mace entered politics in 2010 when she was elected to the South Carolina House of Representatives. She served in the state legislature for eight years, where she gained a reputation as a conservative advocate for education, healthcare, and economic development.

In 2018, Mace ran for the U.S. House of Representatives for South Carolina's 1st congressional district. She defeated incumbent Democrat Joe Cunningham in a close race, becoming the first Republican woman to represent the district.

Policy Positions

As a member of Congress, Mace has supported conservative policies such as tax cuts, deregulation, and increased defense spending. She has also been a vocal critic of the Affordable Care Act and has proposed reforms to the healthcare system.

Personal Life
