Early Life and Education
Benjamin Netanyahu was born on October 21, 1949, in Tel Aviv, Israel. He spent much of his childhood in Jerusalem. Netanyahu studied at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), where he earned a bachelor's degree in architecture in 1975.
Political Career
Netanyahu entered politics in 1982, when he was elected to the Knesset, Israel's parliament, as a member of the Likud party. He quickly rose through the ranks and became leader of the party in 1993.
Netanyahu was first elected Prime Minister of Israel in 1996. He served two terms, from 1996 to 1999 and from 2009 to 2013. He is currently serving his third term as Prime Minister, which began in 2022.

Netanyahu is a conservative politician. He supports free market economics and a strong national defense. He is also a strong advocate for the State of Israel and has worked to strengthen ties with the United States.
